Urgent Care
Posted or Updated on 23 Jan 2024
If you need urgent care or advice when the Practice is closed please dial 111.
When you call NHS 111 you will be assessed, given advice and directed to the local service that can help you.
Calls to the NHS 111 service are free from both landlines and mobiles.
Please note this service replaces NHS Direct (0845 4647) from 6.30pm on 5 March 2013.
What is NHS 111?
The new NHS 111 service will help you access urgent local health services when you need them and out of hours.
You should call NHS 111 if
- You need medical help fast, but it’s not a 999 emergency
- You don’t know who to call for medical help or you don’t have a GP to call
- You think you need to go to A&E or another NHS urgent care service
- You require health information or reassurance about what to do next
